Common questions / Practical answers

The details people usually need before they begin.

Open an answer for the practical detail. Use the search above to narrow both these questions and the help routes.

01Which PractiPix build should I download?

Choose the platform category that matches the computer or mobile device where PractiPix will run. macOS Native is optimized for Apple silicon, while macOS Universal supports both Apple silicon and supported Intel Macs. Availability for Windows, Linux, Android, and iOS is shown on the live Shop and Download pages; a disabled platform does not currently have an installer.

02How does the 14-day Pro trial work?

A new PractiPix installation can evaluate the Pro workflow for 14 days. Use it with real folders, supported cameras, editing tools, and delivery tasks before choosing an edition. The live Pricing and Shop pages show current edition details, platform availability, and purchase actions.

03Does browsing or cataloguing change my original files?

PractiPix is designed around non-destructive work. Browsing, ratings, labels, collections, and edit instructions can stay connected to the source without replacing it. A copy, move, rename, export, or metadata-writing operation occurs only when you choose the relevant action, so review the destination and backup state before running file-changing tasks.

04Can I work with a phone or tablet?

Supported mobile clients can keep useful parts of the workflow close when you leave the desktop, including review, organization, transfer, synchronization, and supported tethered capture. Mobile tools also include practical field utilities such as ND filter exposure calculation. Exact capabilities depend on platform, build, and edition.

05What can AI-assisted tools do?

Supported AI-assisted tools can help with catalogue tagging, visual summaries, OCR, selection, and task automation. They are assistants to a visible workflow rather than a replacement for your source files or final judgement. Provider setup, model access, and feature availability can vary by platform and edition.

06How do I publish images with GalleryOne?

Build or link a GalleryOne collection from approved images, then use its gallery route to present the current sequence, descriptions, and supported media. Linked galleries can follow the working collection instead of requiring a second disconnected set. Check titles, descriptions, permissions, and the final public route before sharing.

07Where can I find an order or download?

Open My Account for orders tied to your PractiPix account and use the secure order or download page supplied after checkout. Current public installers remain available from Download. If a payment, account, or delivery record is missing, contact support with the order email and reference rather than placing the order again.

08When should I contact a person?

Use direct support for account-specific questions, payment or licence records, reproducible defects, security concerns, partnerships, and cases where published guidance does not fit the result you see. Include the operating system, PractiPix version, edition, exact steps, and a minimal screenshot or diagnostic sample when useful.

PractiPix Assistant / Published guidance first

Describe the task, not just the symptom.

Ask in your own words. The assistant starts with published PractiPix guidance and can switch the conversation to a person when the question needs human support.

Good prompts include
  • The result you want
  • Your platform and edition
  • The step where work stopped
